[After a rude awakening in the barracks by Simon to discover the village is slowly patching itself up, Gelda's heading back to house #27 to check up on her housemates- Both the temporary ones and the usual. There's something strange going on today, that much is certain, but she can't quite put her finger on it just yet.

Of course, those who're familiar with Gelda will realize she looks a bit odd herself. She's wearing something similar to an army uniform and seems a bit more fit than usual. Feel free to run into her while she's heading home and ask her about this strange attire.

When she gets home, the first thing she'll do is check up on Nephry, Dist and Anise. If there is something strange going on, they may be affected as well.]

[That sounds pretty good to Gelda. She prefers chicken over other kinds of meat, most of the time, and glaze works well with anything. While she's still mulling that over, she suddenly comes face-to-face with Regal's chest. She's just not used to a rack so big it can invade her personal space when she gets too close. Her eyes widen slightly before she quickly backs away, a mild blush on her cheeks. Act casual, act casual...!]

A-ah, that sounds delicious. I look forward to it. [Her smile is pretty convincing, if only at how ridiculous the situation is.]

[Unfortunately for her, Regal takes that blush entirely the wrong way and thinks she's being coy. Well now, two can play at that game... she's going to abandon the stirring for a moment (surely it won't boil over if she's distracted for just a few seconds) in favor of reaching out to rest her hands on Gelda's waist. Aaaaand leaning in for a kiss now...]

[The moment Regal places her hands on Gelda's waist, she already realizes what's going to happen here. She's just not entirely sure what to do about it. Regal is the one she loves, the one who looked after her all this time (and viceversa). She can't just reject him because he's suddenly a she- What if she was always a she and it's Gelda who's wrong?

Needless to say, she isn't backing away, though she isn't exactly welcoming the kiss either. She's a bit too confused to take any kind of action. It feels so different when it's coming from a woman.]

[Part of that difference would undoubtedly be those (rather large) boobs pressing up against Gelda's own chest. As for the rest of it, however, the way Regal kisses is very much Regal, even if the body isn't what Gelda is used to. The technique is still the same; if nothing else, that should reassure her that this really is Regal.

Or that might make things even worse, either or. But Regal will break the kiss and pull away once she senses that Gelda isn't exactly into it, studying the other's face with a puzzled expression.]

Are you sure you're feeling well?

[Same technique or not, there's still a difference between rough manly lips and soft female ones. A difference Gelda hadn't expected to ever encounter first-hand. And then the chest pressing up against her, oh lord. She feels relieved when her partner backs away again, if only so she can release that breath she's been holding and pull herself together again.

She can't get herself to meet Regal's eyes, though. She feels like she disappointed her and seeing Regal's expression will just make her feel worse about it.]

I'm... I'm fine. The experiment is simply getting to me.

[At the moment, Regal just thinks that Gelda is being affected by a combination of fatigue and the experiment, maybe even hunger as well. She understands all too well how much of a mood-killer that can be, so she'll lean in to press one brief kiss to Gelda's forehead before turning her attention back to that pot so that the apricot glaze doesn't bubble over.]

Perhaps you should go sit down and have a glass of water. That might help you feel better until dinner is ready.

[She can't deny Regal has a point. Ever since the earthquake happened, she hasn't been sleeping well; She's just been running around healing people and fretting about those monsters. Some rest would do her some good.]

Yes... I'll do that. Thank you.

[She fills a glass with water before sitting down at the table, smiling faintly. Woman or not, Regal's still her knight in shining armor.]

[... and the awkwardness still reigns. Time to do something about that.]

So, how was your day? I would hope there is less demand for healing now that the majority of the injuries from the earthquake have been treated and those monsters have disappeared. It looks like the buildings have even started to repair themselves again.

Yes, they have. A rude young man entered the barracks early in the morning, demanding that we move our patients at once because the clinic has been rebuilt. All because he desperately wanted to train.

[She still hasn't realized that rude young man was Simon.]

I hope you told him to go find somewhere else to do so until the patients could be safely relocated.

Yes, I did. It took a bit of persuasion, though; he was very stubborn. I hope he won't cause any more trouble.

Did you happen to get his name so that you can tell the other healers to be on the lookout for him? Was he someone you recognized?

Sadly, I'd never seen him in the village before. He seemed to be somewhere in his early twenties. Dark blue hair... And he wore a blue jacket with red and white lining.

[Regal pauses, thinking.]

Hmm... that description doesn't sound familiar to me, but then again, if he spends most of his time training, I'm not surprised that I have yet to encounter him in town.

[She takes a sip of water, closing her eyes for a moment.] Who knows? If he shows his face near the clinic again, I'll be sure to keep an eye on him.

[She laughs lightly.]

Knowing you, I would not be surprised if you did more than just keep an eye on him.

[Gelda lets out a soft chuckle as well.]

Well, we can't have villagers disrupting the public order, now can we?

Exactly.

[Watch out, Gelda, because you're getting a hug, complete with large and squishy boobs.]

[fljdfslk there are those breasts invading her personal space again. If her memories are faulty, was she really always okay with this? It is sort of comfortable, in a strange sort of way.]

[Regal sure seems to think she was always okay with it, because she's going in for another kiss...]

[Oh. Oh wait. Gelda can't go through with this. Not like this. What if it's Regal who's affected? What if her lover's a man again next week? She raises a hand to stop Regal, pressing it against her lips.]

I... need to ask you something.

[She pauses, looking slightly befuddled. Ask her something? That doesn't sound promising; that tone of voice isn't a "I'm going to ask you about a scenario possibly involving handcuffs and chocolate syrup" one.]

Of course, what is it?

[She lowers her hand again, not entirely sure how to formulate her question. Hm, hmm... Well, here goes nothing.]

... If it turns out that your memories and body are being affected by this experiment and you truly are male, after all... Will you blame me for being with you now?

[If it's Gelda's memories that are being affected and next week, she'll remember all about being with a female lover, then there won't be any harm done. But if it's Regal who's being affected and he returns to being male, things might get a little awkward.]

[Oh Gelda. Regal smiles softly and pulls her into another hug, reminded of just why she fell in love with her in the first place.]

I would never do any such thing. No matter what form I am in, I am still me and you are still you, and that is all that matters. No experiment is going to change how I feel about you.

[It's true. She knows it's true. She just wanted to make sure Regal feels the same way. Those words were a load off her heart, causing her to smile up at her partner.]

That's all I needed to hear. [With that, she'll place a hand on Regal's cheek and lean in for a kiss. It's still sort of awkward, but that's just for a week or so. Once the experiment is over, things will go back to normal, whatever that was.]
