Now, I'd like to announce our new school project. You will be graded for this, of course, but most of all it is a learning experience. All the practical knowledge you gain may very well be put to use in the future. You see...

[She reaches down to pick up a small basket, placing it on the desk before her. What's inside the basket, you wonder? It's eggs. A lot of them. They aren't boiled or anything of the sort.]

For an entire week, you all will be proud parents. These [she indicates the eggs again.] will be your frail, loved children. You may name them, dress them or even try to feed them. As long as your child is still in one piece next Thursday, you pass the project. Of course, one can never become a parent on their own, which is why I've taken the liberty of assigning you all a partner. Both of you will have to cooperate and take it in turns to care for your baby. That is the trick behind parenting, after all. Stella, already being a proud mother herself, is exempt from the project and will be giving a guest lecture early next week.

When I call your names, you will come forth and take one 'child' out of the basket. Once you've all had your turn, I'd like you to take a while to get to know your partner better and make some agreements on the ways you feel this project should be handled.

Oh. [From his clothes she'd thought he was from a modern world, but he's definitely not Japanese either, so...] It's like, animated television shows.

[He blinks, and then nods.] Oh, so it's like a Muggle cartoon.

[Muggle. Isn't that the word that one blonde boy had made up before?]

I don't know what "Muggle" is, but yeah, a cartoon. We call it anime in Japan.

A Muggle is a non-magic person where I come from. I'm not sure what they'd be called in Japan, though.

Non-magic, huh... Why make up a special word for it, though? It sounds kind of like an insult to me.

We have to keep ourselves hidden most of the time. Wizards infiltrating the Muggle world would shake things up too much, so we don't mingle unless we have to.

...I guess I understand. When people get their hands on magic and power like that...

Yeah... it's pretty nasty. There are wizards who don't even like Muggles at all.

Still, hiding all the time sounds like it'd be hard.

It sort of is, but we have spells to help us do that, too.

It's weird to think there could be wizards everywhere and no one knows about it.

It probably all works out for the best. Some Muggles do know.

[It looks like she's thinking of an answer to that, but then suddenly remembers the egg.] Hey, should we give this a name or something?

[Harry looks at it oddly.] Well, it's supposed to be our child for a week. We should take care of it.

I'm not that good at coming up with names...

Hmm... Do you think it'd be a boy or girl?

...A boy?

I s'pose so. James?

That's fine by me.

James it is, then! [He's happy about that, the sentimental weirdo.] He should have a face.

[Oh Harry. At least he stuck with one name.] Hmm...

...Why does it have to be pink?

Maybe someone else has a black marker or something? James needs to grow up with a good head on his... shell.
