Now, I'd like to announce our new school project. You will be graded for this, of course, but most of all it is a learning experience. All the practical knowledge you gain may very well be put to use in the future. You see...

[She reaches down to pick up a small basket, placing it on the desk before her. What's inside the basket, you wonder? It's eggs. A lot of them. They aren't boiled or anything of the sort.]

For an entire week, you all will be proud parents. These [she indicates the eggs again.] will be your frail, loved children. You may name them, dress them or even try to feed them. As long as your child is still in one piece next Thursday, you pass the project. Of course, one can never become a parent on their own, which is why I've taken the liberty of assigning you all a partner. Both of you will have to cooperate and take it in turns to care for your baby. That is the trick behind parenting, after all. Stella, already being a proud mother herself, is exempt from the project and will be giving a guest lecture early next week.

When I call your names, you will come forth and take one 'child' out of the basket. Once you've all had your turn, I'd like you to take a while to get to know your partner better and make some agreements on the ways you feel this project should be handled.

[I'm on such a wigged out schedule and was taking the cat to the vet and all so I didn't think of it like a 'tard. Tear looks up and fumbles for a moment, carefully shifting the egg into one hand so she can extend the other for Sora to shake.]

[Tear, too, even if she's technically adopted Taichi as a kid sibling. She shakes her head a little. When one is raised by a surrogate grandfather and their older brother, one is vaguely uncertain how parenting should go.]

[At least Sora has a normal family? Even if his brother can be annoying. Looks like he's bringing most of the experience to the table, which might be a bad thing.]

[He unzips the black hole one of his pockets and pulls out a marker as he takes the egg, thinks for a moment - then pops off the cap and writes "AKAI" on it in letters as big as he can get on the egg. Considering there's gonna be three eggs in his apartment, seems smart to differentiate.] All right, there we go!

[Nope, that is totally my headcanon. After all, none of those kids' families' is ever seen, and we only ever hear Sora's mom. Not all of them can be only children.]

Yeah, my roommates and I are all in here, so we're all gonna have eggs. [He'll point at Riku and Kairi then, who clearly aren't paired together so as to decrease the egg-numbers.] Figured it'd be better to have some way to tell which one belonged to who, otherwise something bad's probably gonna happen.

Ah, that makes sense. Florian lives with us, [Points to the little green-haired kid somewhere over yonder.] But when I'm home I tend to keep to myself. But this will make it much easier. [Smiles.] Does the name mean anything to you?
