Has Sasarai still not returned?

[Raine]
How are you feeling? Has there been any improvement?

[Jade and Dist]
I need to speak with you. The both of you. It's recently come to my attention that this cannot be avoided any longer. You two can either visit me together, or give your stories seperately.

[Considering it's such a nice day outside, Gelda has taken a chair and is sitting in the shade in front of house #27. She found an interesting book in the library to waste some time with. You can tell her attention isn't quite on the pages, though. Feel free to bug her, considering she hasn't been around all too much these past few weeks.]

[She just nods. That's the last thing she remembers before arriving in Luceti. But she never really blamed Jade for that.]

Saphir and I hauled your bleeding, near-death body out of Keterburg, trying to get you away from danger.

Not knowing what else to do, I attempted a theory I had developed some time before utilizing the first six fonons, in an attempt to save your life. A theory known as... Fomicry.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
... Similar to how you created a new doll for Nephry.

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. The attempt was a success. I indeed created a replica using fomicry as it existed then.

However, you were lost. That replica was not you. Furthermore, it was unstable, lacking sufficient first and sixth fonons. The replica was almost feral, attacking innocents just to absorb their fonons. It was also a highly skilled, highly dangerous fonist.

She had my appearance, but not my soul. That's only logical. It is impossible to recreate human emotions. How many lives did she take?

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
She had wiped out an entire band of fonists. Other than that, I could not say.

It took all that McGovern, who was an elite of Malkuth's military in his prime, had in order to just seal her away.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
She wasn't executed for her crimes?

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That would have required capturing her, and that was hardly effective against her.

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
...You may find the method behind which she was sealed, as well as how she was eventually defeated, somewhat ironic.

[He raises his right arm, and a spear materializes in his hand. He places the spear on the table.]

Does this weapon look at all familiar to you, Professor? [The weapon in question is Blood Pain.]

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Even if the spear's design wasn't familiar to her, the properties are an excellent tip-off. This thing is basically radiating an unusual amount of fonons. Her eyes widen slightly.]

A Planetary Fonic Arte Catalyst.

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct.

McGovern sealed her within a crag in the deepest reaches of Mt. Roneal, using this weapon.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Mt. Roneal... I see. I suppose that would make sense, considering...

[She shakes her head briefly. Ironic, indeed. She'd worked hard to cover up all research regarding the Planetary Arte, yet remnants of it aided in stopping a mistake made by her students.]

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh, but... if you wish to hear the full story, it does not stop there.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Then, by all means, continue.

[She has an ominous feeling, now. But how could things get worse? An entire army of deranged Gelda clones?]

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Roughly two years ago, my comrades and I had begun investigating the Catalysts after learning of their existence and their connection to the Planetary Fonic Arte.

After having gathered all six, our search brought us to a crag within Mt. Roneal, where the Planetary Fonic Arte glyph lay dormant.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[... Uhoh. Oh Jade, do you never learn?]

Why would you seek out such tremendous power? What good would have come from it?

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
We discovered one of the Catalysts, the demon sword Nebilim, by chance. After learning of their power, we believed they may be able to assist us in stopping Van Grants' plans to remove the Score's influence on the world by replacing it with a replica world. ...Using fomicry.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh good grief, this is much worse than she thought. She runs a hand through her hair, glancing down at the table.]

A replica world... Is Fomicry truly such a powerful technique?

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I had... refined the technique so that it utilized machines and seventh fonons. It proved to be a more effective process, and no more replicas like yours came into existence.

Fomicry can be a truly frightening process, if in the wrong hands.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
... To think someone would want to replace the entire world, just to get rid of the Score. It's lunacy. Even if you were to recreate the planet, that too would have a memory of its own. The replicas inhabiting it simply might not know how to read it.

[Action]

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
At its heart, the Score is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The things that happen become true because we believe they will happen.

[Action]

[identity profile] fonon-professor.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That hardly denies the existance of the planet's memory. I can understand why one would want more freedom, as I've come to realize here in Luceti that life without the Score is a lot more pleasant. Even so, using such a dangerous technique to create a new world is hardly the best way to approach the matter.
